Telehealth as a medical education tool during the COVID-19 pandemic: experience report

Abstract: Introduction: The Covid-19 pandemic interrupted and challenged the traditional structure of medical education, based on face-to-face teaching, and, as a measure support for efforts government agencies to reduce risk spreading disease, distance became necessary. medical/patient care increase in supply telehealth services by health systems. In Brazil, model seeks improve quality primary (PHC), integrating education service through tele-education tele-assistance activities, such teleconsulting, Second Formative Opinion (SOF), telediagnosis. Thus, this article reports experience students actions during seeking clarify contributions limitations teaching-learning process context education. Experience report: Participation project allowed various activities under supervision guidance professors area, addition production informative educational materials. proposed improvement clinical reasoning evidence-based medicine (EBM), especially helping teleconsultations frequently asked questions. Discussion: use technologies indispensable pandemic, within scenario, proved be an important effective strategy continuing among professionals community, avoiding crowding preventing spread virus. addition, remote actions, teleconsultations, resolution questions tele-education, accessing not only times pandemic. Conclusion: Our made it possible foster critical thinking disseminate content safe, technical way. exercise led us great value believe that inclusion practice can bring gains curriculum Medicine courses.
